Little Rock, Arkansas should not be confused with Littlerock, California or North Little Rock, Arkansas, which is a seperate city. Little Rock is the capital and largest city in the U.S. state of Arkansas. It is located in central Arkansas and is the county seat of Pulaski County. Little Rock derives its name from a small rock formation on the south bank of the Arkansas River called La Petite Roche (the "little rock").
